Defence Geospatial Division ( BGSP ) Receive Special Award GIS International Level
PUTRAJAYA: 14 October 2014 – The Geospatial Defence (GSP), the Department of Survey and Mapping (JUPEM) has been selected for the award-winning global, Special Achievement in Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) or the Special Achievement in GIS (SAG). SAG Awards are presented to Brig Gen Hj Abu Sufian bin Ahmad, Director BGSP at Users Conference ESRI at Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) by the Chief Executive Officer ESRI Southeast Asia, recognized the efforts BGSP in utilizing advanced technology of GIS to support operations and mission critical Forces forces (ATM). Under the program UGEO For Defence, BGSP using GIS technology to enable the ATM to access accurate geospatial data seamlessly when needed at any time, anywhere. For Defence UGEO program that provides the infrastructure and the ability to integrate geospatial data from across multiple business systems, which visually shows the results of dynamic and intuitive map, which allows users to combine their operations in order to identify and solve problems with the most effective way. With the program allows BGSP Defence UGEO For complete planning and ATM personnel with basic geospatial information that can help them make decisions in a timely, relevant and consistent. In fact, the technology provides an enormous contribution in responding to the incident in Lahad Datu, Sabah last year and is planning a mission search and rescue operations for Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 and MH17 tragedy.
