HONORABLE VISIT YBRS. DIRECTOR OF TRANSPORT INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEERING BRANCH, JKR TO DEPARTMENT OF SURVEYING AND MAPPING MALAYSIA | DECEMBER 12, 2022
KUALA LUMPUR, 12 December 2022 - A session of Honorable Visit from YBrs. Ir Waznah binti Abd. Aziz, Director of the Transport Infrastructure Engineering Branch (CKIP), Public Works Department (JKR) and a delegation to the Survey and Mapping Department of Malaysia was held this morning at the Conference Room, Wisma JUPEM.
The CKIP delegation was welcomed by YBrs. Sr Wan Mohamad Darani bin Ab Rahman, Deputy Director General of Surveying and Mapping I together with YBrs. Sr Muhammad Salim bin Mohammed Asari, Survey Director of the Cadastre Division as well as other senior JUPEM officials.
The CKIP delegation was also attended by Sr. Taufek bin Kasim, Head of the Land Survey Division, CKIP who is also a JUPEM cadre, Ir. Muhammad Khazani bin Abd. Rahman, Head of the CKIP Air Base Division, as well as representatives of the Building Information Modeling (BIM) Division, JKR and the Asset Integrated Management Branch, JKR.
The meeting session between the two agencies was held to further strengthen the cooperative relationship between the two parties. Among the main points discussed are technical issues involving Surveying and Mapping work at JKR, geospatial information sharing, measurement technology sharing and measurement equipment between JUPEM and JKR. In addition, some matters related to the staffing of cadres and the involvement of cadres in seminars, trainings and workshops at JUPEM were also given attention by the Department Management.
JUPEM has also given a briefing on the latest measurement technology through the Drone Mapping Method. CKIP also shared information about BIM technology and the involvement and integration of BIM data between JUPEM and JKR.
The Land Survey Division, JKR who is also a JUPEM cadre is responsible for carrying out Engineering Survey work under the JKR physical project 'in-house' involving a total of 20 JUPEM cadre staff led by Sr Taufek bin Kassim. The meeting ended with the presentation of souvenirs and a photo session.
Hopefully with this meeting between the two parties we can further strengthen the relationship of cooperation in the field of measurement, mapping and geospatial.
